We started DragonVista after watching a client struggle with the simple task of tracking the weekly changes on their competitors' home pages. Our client felt it was important to understand what merchandise and offers their competitors were promoting each week. So every week, they printed the home page of their top ten competitors and stored them in a three-ring binder. A simple solution, that created a several of problems. They shared this binder with a lot of people. So everyone had to walk to the "competition cube" to check out the binder. Not a great use of time. Also, with just one binder they had to choose a single sort order to file their archive. They chose to sort by date and then by competitor. But then if they wanted to look at changes for a particular competitor, they couldn't change the sort order to be competitor then date. We figured we could give them better solution and put some extra time back in their life. We created DragonVista - an online archive of competitor websites. |
